BUILDING FOR LIFE UPDATE
JANUARY 2008
a pURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH
Last Sabbath was one of the most exciting days as the Pastor of this church. It truly was a Celebration Sabbath! With the help of our Lay Pastors, we announced the miracle that God did through the members and friends of this church.
Seven weeks ago we launched our Building for Life campaign. In my sermon, “How to Prepare for a Miracle,” I stated that we were attempting to raise $175,000.00 in cash and 3-year commitments. To reach this goal would truly be a miracle and require every family to stretch their faith.
Last Sabbath of December 2007 I announced that we raised $100,298.00 in cash and commitments! Praise God! However, after church a few more commitment cards were turned in. I am thrilled to announce that our revised total is: $114,156.00. What is also amazing is that 25 families are part of this miracle.
This was done through generous giving. There wasn’t any fundraising. There were no Bingo parties or raffles. There was no thermometer on the wall. We did not sell any products or have any yard sales. It was all done through your generous giving.
What does this mean? First of all it means that we can move forward with our project. I think that we can begin around the middle of January 2008. I hope it will take about six weeks to do the bulk of the work. Second, it means that Phase 1 of our project will be paid off in 3 years – rather than 15! What a miracle!
If there are still some who have not joined in – it’s not too late to be part of this miracle. If you need a commitment card, please let me know and I’ll be happy to mail one to you. You can also make your contribution while at church by marking the offering envelope, “Building Fund.”
To all who are part of the Building For Life miracle – thank you!
Sincerely,
Jan
